Old Irish Tabus or Geasa

Hoodoo Vodou Druido in the Grove · Post Old Irish Tabus or Geasa Posting as The Druid King

For tonight's old Irish word or term, we will look at a very complex (Druid / Reincarnation) subject.

As such I am adding a Blog link which I will be updating and has a link to a 1901 Publication on Folk-Lore. This will allow us if we wish to dig a bit deeper into this interesting concept and perhaps talk about, if and how it affects our lives today if we can discover it.

Tabus (Taboo) or Geasa

Geas; (I) > geis (geasa) - magically bound injunction or duty, individual and contextual, having the force of dán, explicitly not a taboo since many geasa required the person bound to perform, not avoid, the required activity.
Ref. 1

Cuchulain was a complicated romantic figure with possible male and female lovers, but basically, his duties and geas and destiny really ruined his love life.

For tonight I am giving URL or link to another reference to the concept of "Geasa"

If you wish to download or read online and we can discuss it in more detail.
